I offer Internet-based and Telephone Coaching or Counselling/ Therapy. A Free Initial Chat will help you decide if Coaching or Therapy is right for you.
I have 20 years experience as a fully qualified UK based counsellor/psychotherapist, integrating person centred, solution focused and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) methods. I am an accredited member of the BACP and adhere to their Code of Ethics.
I trained at Duke Integrative Medicine in the USA, as a Life/Health Coach. My work has also been greatly enhanced by Inner Game trainings with coaching founder Tim Gallwey.
My approach is About Life Learning, with a focus on self discovery, mindfulness, growth, learning to learn, evolving, meaning and purpose, inner resources, enjoyment and wisdom.
They say that ‘Life is for Learning’ – but what is there to Learn About Life?
A few thoughts …
- Stress is really not that enjoyable
- Feeling good is our birthright
- Are we alone ultimately?
- Life can be truly amazing
Our beliefs and perspective on life affect every aspect of how we live, and whether we find joy and fulfillment in life. However difficult our past, or challenging our present situation, we have choice, and the capacity for transformation.

Testimonials
FROM E.M. “The online mindfulness counselling sessions were hugely helpful. Very relevant insights and appropriately challenging. Significant in terms of appreciation and compassion towards myself which is an area I have found difficult lately in my busyness. The sessions have helped me to get back on track in terms of regular mindfulness practice and appreciating and enjoying my relationships with my husband and children. More celebration of who we are and contentment in life and work. Less striving and more being. I would have struggled to schedule “live” sessions so the flexibility of replying to online emails made this viable for me. Thank you Cathy.”
FROM B.W. “Cathy Watts has been an invaluable support in some difficult times with me managing my health (chronic fatigue syndrome) and some other life issues that were very challenging. She is very intelligent and perceptive, and has a knack of helping you discover for yourself the real roots of what the problems are. She is patient and supportive, yet adept at guiding you to be honest with yourself. She is also compassionate, full of intuition and understanding, and has a great sense of humour. I am very happy to recommend her as an excellent counsellor, and I have been impressed at her experience and knowledge.”
FROM A.H. “I can with confidence recommend Cathy Watts as a very skilled and professional psychotherapist. I finally sought help following a family crisis, and after a lifetime of anxiety and recurrent low mood episodes stemming, I now realise, from traumatic childhood experiences. My therapy has been by telephone and audio skype over the past two years.
With her wisdom, sensitivity, intuition, warmth, humanity, gentle confidence and impish humour, Cathy created the safe space where I could relax, explore my thoughts and feel my feelings in the knowledge that I was cared for and supported. This has led to a sense of healing that I could never have dared hope for.
By using the Inner Game principles and tools I have become noticeably more resilient in the face of life’s inevitable challenges. My consistent and growing experience is of a stable, inner contentment and peacefulness, and clarity, confidence and enjoyment in so much more of my life. This to me is priceless, and I am profoundly grateful to Cathy for her unwavering guidance and for being alongside me as I’ve found my way.”
